Temporal drawing: Warm data sessions

Experiments in sensing temporality through drawing, melding multiple contexts together with Henri Bergson’s idea of ‘durational time’. Captured in multiple theory sessions at the Warm Data Lab training, 24 – 29 July, 2023.

“Drawing embeds time within itself, notating changes in space and duration. The drawing is a document of its own genesis…

…Through the act of drawing one describes motion, sequence and change that can be made to have resonance and reverberation in the physical world. The drawing is a result of process, but it also describes process. It is generated in time through a layering of time-based mechanisms, but it can be read in an instant. It collapses multifarious layers of embedded time onto the space of the page.”
